Pet-Inclusive Affordable Housing
Stable, affordable housing where people and the animals they depend on can remain together — with dignity, stability, and a shared sense of belonging.
A 14 Unit Apartment Building in Chelsea New York, Where People & Animals are Companions
Ballroom Barks Inc. owns and operates a residential building containing 14 affordable apartments designed to support individuals who benefit from living with animals that provide therapeutic care, emotional support, companionship, and greater independence.
Our housing program addresses two interconnected challenges: the shortage of affordable, pet-inclusive housing and the separation of vulnerable individuals from animals who play an essential role in their emotional and physical well-being. By providing stable housing that welcomes eligible residents and their animals, Ballroom Barks helps preserve these important relationships while reducing the risk of housing instability, animal surrender, and displacement.
Residents become part of a compassionate community built around dignity, responsible animal care, mutual support, and long-term housing stability. Through this program, Ballroom Barks advances animal welfare by helping pets remain safely housed with the people who know, love, and depend on them.
Housing Stability Is Animal Welfare
When people lose access to pet-inclusive housing, the animals who provide them with support and companionship are often the ones who pay the price. Our work helps keep those bonds intact.
